Ony, celebrity makeup artist and one of the most sought after brow specialists, began her makeup career several years ago. Ony's work has graced the faces of such noted celebrities as BeBe & CeCe Winans, Whitney Houston, Michelle Willams(of Destinys Child), Tasha Smith, Sherri Shepard, Billy Ray Cyrus, Danny Gokey(from Amercian Idol), Kirk Franklin and many more.
Ony's work has appeared on countless album covers and television shows, including Oprah, American Idol, Good Morning America, Motown Live, Gospel Dream, The Stellar Awards and The Dove Awards.
After graduating from The University of Michigan at the age of 20 and despite being teased all her life about being too dark, Ony pursued her childhood dream of becoming a runway model. After being turned away a counteless number of times by agencies and almost giving up on her dream, a new agent decided to sign Ony and her career began to blossom. Clients included Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Marshall Fields and Nordstrom along with several national ads that appeared in various magazines. Throughout my modeling career I started applying my own makeup out of sheer necessity because a lot of makeup artists did not have makeup to match my skintone. I started watching the techniques that makeup artists were using and adjusted the colors to get the same look for my complexion.
Being the entrepreneur at heart that Ony is, it didn't take her long to launch The Ony Beauty Gloss Collection which consists of several different colors and textures to meet the needs of various types of women.
Currently, Ony is the makeup artist for Interiors Inc., a new design series featuring celebrity designer, Jonathan Pierce, launching on HGTV in January 2012.
